4月に受けた、人生初のTOEICのテスト結果が出た！
スコアは340点。想像通り。
内訳はリスニングが215点で、リーディングが125点。
苦手意識のあるリスニングの方が高いのは意外だった。
でもリスニングも知ってる単語を2〜3個キャッチして選択肢を見ながら推測する、という感じだから聞き取れてるという実感は全くない。
正直、理解できてるのは全体の10%〜20%くらいだと思う。
ていうか、映画とかYouTube、TikTokとかで英語に触れる機会は多いはずなんだけど、そういう場所でされてる会話とリスニングテストの会話問題とでは全然違うものの感じがする。
もちろん英語話せる人はリスニング問題でも聞き取れるはず（なんなら発音がクリアだから聞き取りやすいと思う人もいるかも）なんだけど、なんていうか、日常英会話でスムーズにやりとりができるようになりたいのか、テストで高得点を取りたいのかではもしかすると勉強方法が違うんじゃないか？って思った。まあ、340点のやつが言っても説得力はないと思うけど。
まあでも、理想は日常会話もできるし、テストでも結果出せるっていうのがやっぱりかっこいいからTOEICは定期的に挑戦していきたいと思う。

I got the results for the TOEIC test I took in April — my very first one!
My score was 340 points, just as I expected.
I got 215 in Listening and 125 in Reading.
It was surprising that my Listening score was higher, even though I feel less confident in that area.
But honestly, in Listening, I was just catching 2 or 3 words I recognized and guessing the answer from the choices, so I didn’t feel like I actually understood what was being said.
To be honest, I think I only understood about 10–20% of the content.
I mean, I feel like I’m exposed to a lot of English through movies, YouTube, and TikTok, but the conversations in those places feel totally different from the ones in the TOEIC listening test.
Of course, people who can speak English well can probably understand the listening questions too (some might even say the pronunciation in the test is clearer and easier to catch),
but it made me wonder — maybe the study methods are different depending on whether you want to become good at everyday conversation or score high on a test.
Well, I know it might not sound convincing coming from someone who got a 340, but still.
Anyway, I still think it’s really cool to be someone who can both speak English naturally and get good test scores,
so I want to keep taking the TOEIC regularly.
